Vodcuppa -Vodka Gol Gappa

Gol Gappa (Water Bread) also known as Pani Puri is a street snack in several regions of India. It consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water (pani), tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion and chickpeas.

The main twist of taste in Gol Gappa is its spiced water.
Main Ingredients:
Semolina Flour,
Wheat Flour,
Spiced Water,
Onions,
Boiled Potato
Boiled Chick Peas
Tamarind Chutney
Chaat Masala
And Surprise

Method:


Gol Gappa (Water Bread)
Take 2 cups of semolina flour and 1 cup of wheat flour
Add 1 cup of warm water in it and make dough of it which is elastic but not sticky and leave it for 30 minutes.
Now knead little parts of the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it as thin as possible
Take 2 cups of oil in a pan. Heat it properly,  deep fry the rolled dough until it becomes a very light brown colored ball.
You can also buy readymade gol gappa.

Spiced Water

Spiced water is the main twist in Gol Gappa
You will require:
Mint leaves – (200 gms)
Coriander Leaves – (125 gms)
Salt – Preferably Black Salt 1 teaspoon
Chaat Masala ½ teaspoon
Lemon – 2
A pinch of pepper
Red Chili Powder – ½ spoon

Water – 5 cups
Sugar 1/2 Spoon
Dry mango powder-3/4 teaspoon
Roasted cumin seeds powder- 1 teaspoon

Surprise -IF YOU LIKE BEVERAGES LIKE VODKA, WINE, WHISKEY ETC., YOU CAN ADD THE SAME IN THE SPICED WATER TO GIVE IT A NEW BLEND.






Method:

In a mixer grinder, add all ingredients and mix it well, it will become a green colored Spiced Water.


Method of eating the snack.

Take Gol Gappa, make a hole in it with your finger.
Put some boiled mashed potatoes in it.
Put some boiled chick peas in it.
Put some tamarind sauce in it.
Add the spiced water in it. Water can overflow a bit.




Now gulp this whole water bread at once in your mouth and enjoy the wonderful mouth full snack.

Punjabi Pasta

Punjabi Past
From years we have been eating this Italian food. The best part of pasta is that you can eat it your way. You can put any spices, herbs, sauces and enjoy it in any form.

I did it my way. i.e. Punjabi Pasta.( Pasta with extra spices and flavors of India).

Ingredients:

  • Pasta (150 gms)
  • 1 capsicum ( Finely Chopped)
  • Olive Oil
  • 2-3 Spring Onions (medium 1 inch slices)
  • 2 Green Chilly (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tomatoes (1 inch slices)
  • 1/2 Ginger
  • 2-3 Garlic
  • 2-3 Beans
  • Sweet Corn 1/2 cup
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red Chilly, 
  • Sauces - Mint, tomato, pasta sauce, schezwan sauce


Method:

  1. Boil Pasta for around 10 - 15 minutes
  2. In a separate pan, put some olive oil and cook ginger and garlic in it for 1 minute.
  3. Add pepper, beans, tomatoes in it and cook it for 3-4 minutes
  4. Add onion and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add corn
  6. Add salt, pepper, red chilly according to taste
  7. Then add 1/4 spoon Mint sauce, 1 spoon (tomato, pasta and schezwan sauce) each.
  8. Then add boiled pasta in it and mix well.

Garnish with Mint and Coriander leaves Serve hot :)

All ingredients used in this pasta not only give it an Indian touch but also take care of our health.
